True story: I am a recovering co-sleeper, and I used to love it. That is, until it wasn’t working.
My first child was a unicorn baby and slept like a champ — my second was another story entirely. I knew we had to make big changes when a sip of milk like clockwork was the only thing that could soothe him to sleep.
Raising babies is hard. It’s joyous, rewarding, wonderful, exciting, happy, fulfilling and really stinking hard. Being a parent is one of the best parts of my life, but there was a time when it challenged me, drained me, worried me, and physically exhausted me to the point where I was becoming the worst version of myself and was desperate for solutions.
Drawing on the knowledge I’d gained in my 15-year career in the women’s and children’s healthcare industry, I began searching for ways to help my child sleep so we could become the happy, healthy and functioning family I knew we could be.
I knew extinction wasn’t the method that would work for us. Just as I thought I was destined to remain a sleep-deprived crazy lady (just ask my husband!) I discovered a method that was supportive and easy to follow, and within just a few nights of starting the program, my son was sleeping through the night.
Hi, I’m Kelly!
As the founder and owner of Kelly Murray Sleep Consulting, I get the privilege of helping parents create sustainable solutions for their families to get the rest they need.
Because, after all, well-rested babies and parents do everything better.
I’m the mom of two rambunctiously adorable kiddos, and wife to my amazing husband of 8 years. We live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago, and in the warmer months, you can find us at the parks, beaches, museums and on the 606 bike trail. We love a good adventure! When my kids wake up every morning, the first thing they ask is “where are we going today?”
My greatest goal is to raise children who work and love hard. This is a big reason I prioritize sleep in my house. Who has the energy to work hard or the patience to be kind when they’re sleep deprived? I don't care if they are the smartest or most athletic kids, I just want them to be good people who try their best at everything they do.

Let’s get to know each other…
I take sleep seriously, but I like to think we’ll have fun together as we find solutions for your family.
I’m a little bit hippie, a little bit basic and a little bit gangsta. When I am sans kids and not helping bleary-eyed parents and uber-busy adults get more sleep, you will likely find me drinking a pumpkin spice latte, blaring 90s hip hop on my way to a yoga class.
Although, I grew up in Detroit and it will forever be home, I dreamed of living in Chicago ever since I first visited with my family as a child—that dream came true 15 years ago. It is everything I thought it would be and more!
I love all things cozy — if Ugg made bodysuits, I would live in one.
Our goldendoodle, Daphne, is my first and best-behaved child. (Shhh… don’t tell my tiny humans.)
I am a huge science nerd. I give a mini-sleep science lesson during each sleep consultation. Don’t worry, if I see your eyes start to glaze over, I’ll stop talking!
While I’ve shifted to working with adults exclusively, I personally oversee each and every one of my amazing Sleep Squad’s cases. No matter which consultant you work with from my team, you can be assured you’re receiving the best knowledge, support, and compassion for your family’s sleep journey.
